Deer Hunting Season 2010 Maine Deer Season
Deer hunting season in Maine 2010 may go down in Maines history as the worst deer hunting season ever. The deer hunting season harvest totals have yet to be released by the Department Of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife.
In all my years spent in the Maine woods, this by far is the worst ever, as far as seeing deer period. Many deer hunters it seems had likewise experiences.
Our deer hunting season seems to be getting less and less enjoyable each year. I can’t speak for other deer hunters, but deer season for me was always about putting meat in the freezer.
The experiences that it took to accomplish this task was also enjoyable, but with so few deer nowadays, it may become a thing of the past for more and more hunters.
Turkeys are very abundant, but who wants to look at turkeys when they are out deer hunting. I suspect that deer hunting license sales will continue to dwindle, as the years go by, if this trend keeps up.
Add to all of this, we have have another bad winter to top it all off. The deer had a fairly mild winter up until a few weeks ago, when mother nature decided to dump on us.
The up and down weather temps have crusted the deep snow, thereby making it easier for a big coyote kill winter again this year. There might not be any deer around my neck of the woods come this spring.
I had 1 doe and 2 fawns around home, even after the deer season was over, and it will be nice to see if they return or if any deer return at all.
How about your deer hunting season in 2010? Do you think the 2010 Maine Deer Season Will Go Down In History In A Good Way?
