		<description>I have been hunting in Maine since 1974 and the last few years have been dismal at best.  First of years hunting in Maine where in the southwestern portion of the state Denmark Maine, where the deer population has always been great.  Even today the population seems to be OK in this section although I think mainly becuase the of the build outs the deer are pushed into smaller areas.  

In Northern Maine in the area of Wytopitlock, the deer population is at an all time low.  I have seen very little sign of deer as it appears that the Moose have overrun the area.  The loggers have taken all the natural winter cover away, show me area of Ceadar and you will most likely seem some sign of deer.  The problem is they (Logging Co.) have taken all the winter cover.  You add that with the number of coyotes today and there be the problem.  Our management system is terrible, at this point I think the best bet is to close the season for a year or two.</description>
